Dear Bushy Park Players,

We will be running a Halloween Tennis camp for 6-12 year olds this October break!

It will be running from Monday the 25^th of October to Friday the 29^th and will be on from 9am to 1pm each day. These camps are for children of all levels and will be an excellent way to make new friends. It will also be a great way to improve your child’s tennis skills while enjoying spooky Halloween fun with our coaches and really get into the Halloween spirit.

The price is €120 for the week of the camp and everything will be provided for you here. All you will need is lunch, a drink and a raincoat in case it rains!

The Padel Federation of Ireland, in conjunction with the International Padel Federation, is bringing the first ever official International tournament to Ireland. The prestigious FIP Rise Tournament will come to Bushy Park from the 8th to the 12th September.

There is currently construction going on in the park outside the main entrance

of the club, and the entrace will be blocked for few days.

From today our members must access the club through the entrance down

the road and around the skate park.

The other entrance available is at the top of the road in front of the roundabout.

COVID-19 PROTOCOLS AND RESTRICTIONS

-To access club courts, players must be a current member or a participant on an approved Tennis Ireland or Padel Federation of Ireland Programme. Therefore, only members are allowed to play - this includes SILVER membership (10 games pass - 48 euro).

-Double's play is allowed, if playing partners are from the same household.

-Club house and changing rooms, showers will remain closed.

-Essential toilet facilities will be available in case of emergency.

-Coaches should prepare and present a Risk Assessment document and get approval to coach from the Club Covid 19 Committee at the Club.

-A pod, up to a maximum of 6 Junior players (u18 yrs.), can be coached per court.

-A maximum of 4 junior players (u18 yrs.) can operate on the court at any one time while remaining in their own sections of the court with up to 2 other players rotating in and out as required.

-A pod of 8 players per court is allowable for red ball activities, subject to social distancing protocols being implemented.

-Adult (Over 18 yrs.) coaching activities must be limited to a maximum of two households per court. Players must remain in their own sections of the court.

-Our measures and procedures are under constant review and will be updated as advice from Government and health authorities evolves and we will endeavor to keep all players and visitors updated.

An Taoiseach, Micheál Martin provided an update to the nation a few days ago in relation to COVID-19 and the Level 5 restrictions that are currently in place.​

Bushy Park Tennis & Padel Club is pleased with the confirmation that tennis and padel will be amongst the first sports to be allowed to open from 26th April.

We are aware of the impact that the current restrictions are having on the physical and mental health of individual members, young and old. We would have liked restrictions to be lifted without delay, but, according to the Government, the virus may be spreading in the community and we are susceptible to a fourth wave, and this must be respected.

We will continue to engage with the relevant departments and agencies in the coming days and weeks to progress, as quickly as the public health situation will allow, the full return of all tennis and padel activities.

We​ commend members and visitors for their​ track record of​ compliance with the various protocols over the last year, which has undoubtedly saved lives, and which has significantly contributed to tennis and padel being one of the first sports to resume.
